Lacoet
Hello, I want to make Calabaza Enmielada (I’m on holiday in AZ) but I can’t find calabaza de Castilla here. Does anybody know which other kind of squash would make a good substitute? thanks.

TBH, I don't know another squash with a shell as hard as that of the Castilla. Could you substitute camote enmielado on your menu instead? I know it's not the same, but it's really delicious. Yo1
Turks Head has a really hard shell. It's kind of grey with with a flattish top and ugly scabs on it and it's very large. The meat is dark orange and very good.
More Liana
Turks Head is a great suggestion. Unfortunately I've never seen one for sale in a Mexican market, but YMMV.
