sm1mex
Does anyone know if the government offices like water and property taxes and car tag places will be open January 2 to start paying these requirements?
Mostlylost
Normally it would be Jan 6 after vacation is over.

HoneyBee
Thanks, will go tomorrow to pay my property taxes with the hope that many think they are closed until the 6 of January.
RVGRINGO
ENE does not mean Eastnortheast, and 6 does not mean 2. What are you missing?
Ferret
At the bottom of the notice, it says that the cashiers for Catastro and the Treasury will be open EXCEPT for December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st. This may be hard for you to see because the letters are white on a pale pink background. Catastro is where you pay your house taxes. I love that word... just add a "phe" to it. HoneyBee
Thanks Ferret to clarify the "missing" and for translating and again I will be at the Catastrophe tomorrow..

Mostlylost
Never have I seen so many people in such a hurry to give the government money.
HoneyBee
Two things, one you can a discount if you pay early, two, I like to get all my large payments out of the way early. On a side note anyone happen to know if SIMAPA provides seating and a number or should I bring a chair and a sandwich.
Bisbee Gal
SIMAPA in Ajijic has very limited seating; gives out numbers. Last year in early Jan. they had communication problems with the "home office" in Chapala. I went twice and came home after hearing how long others had already been waiting. HoneyBee
Thanks. I use the Chapala office and will take a folding chair just in case. Just before anyone jumps all over me I have a total of 8 waters meters so the discount I get is well worth the wait (same for my 7 properties, one water meter is for general use )

bmh
SIMAPA used to have a couple of chairs in Ajijic... No need for a sandwch, go by if there are many people go another day..
