Is it worth it? What to do? How to do it?

Two couples looking to go to Tequila town.

Have you gone?

How did you go?

Was it worth it (especially if you are a non-drinker)?

What is best way to go? Train, bus or private car?

If we take private car/driver,  we are on our own; can we  do the same as on a tour?

Drive there on our own? If so, what do we do.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I'd drive, the new GDL Libramiento toll road takes you right to it, no more slogging through GDL to get to Ruta 15 north.  Take the Herradura tequila tour, you'll have to back track a little to the next town south but it is worth it.  Then spend a few hours in Tequila itself and drive home easily on the same route.

It's a good day trip.

We went by van with the tour company that was in Plaza Montana in Ajijic. Well worth it. They took us to places we never would have found on our own.

That would be Charter Club Tours.  They are the best!  Now operating in building across from Ajijic Pemex.  Tuesdays are their "Tequila" days.  Lots to learn.... even if you don't drink.      www.charterclubtours.com  376-766-1777

What are your thoughts about the Saturday Tequila Express train tour ?

I was told it would not suit me. That it was a noisy booze up. But the idea of going by train is interesting.
