ComputerGuy
I won't go to Wings Army, partly because their wings are pitifully small. So the Van Wings must be like grasshopper legs. And I think you'll be able to find smokers at both locations. Wings Army focuses on people younger than us, and they are okay with the music and the high prices. Xena
“For us, the sauces are tastier & I personally prefer smaller wings.“ Just curious, why do you prefer smaller wings?
shortstop
I have found both here & in the US & Canada the larger the wings the likelier they can be overcooked or undercooked. Maybe depends on the chef. We have had really good wings at Wings Army & really bad ones, really my main objection about the place is the extremely loud music And also the fact that they quite often do not have any draft beer. Not an issue for everyone but it is for us ! We wing lovers are quite picky about what would hardly be considered a gourmet meal. As for a table of smokers, Vancouver wings has a bigger outdoor seating area. I agree about the younger crowd & the loud music, 50 years ago I was the same. My husband is hard of hearing, it does not bother him. I leave both places if forced to sit inside, with a hoarse voice & ringing ears. 1
ComputerGuy
Smokers. All depends on which way the wind blows. But "often no draft"? Geez, this place specializes in two things: wings and beer.
slainte39
My grand daughters, have informed me that the music is never too loud at either location. so what are you talking about?

I suspect money laundering for any place that never has customers but tends to always be "open" year after year. Vancouver Wings has plenty of customers. They're just young and Mexican, not old and gringo.
ComputerGuy
I never see anybody there, and I'm around all hours of the afternoon for various things. Makes no difference, though. Obviously something is keeping them going.
slainte39
Their business is 99% after dark. I have no idea why they would even open up in the daytime. Weekends they are packed right up to closing time and then some. LOL (according to my grand daughters…..too late for me.) 1
Ferret
Their food must look better in poor lighting.

I think it looks better to people who haven´t observed a lot of cumpleaños. They go there because it´s a social life, drink beer, a place to hang out, that´s considered "in". Food is secondary and not that important. Do you think that they really care if the "wings" aren´t top shelf?

It appears that some of the elderly around here are having trouble understanding that demographic even though they did similar but not exactly the same things at that age.
Ferret
Do you see that little winking emojii at the end of my post??? That means is was a joke guys. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge... way more important things when you're young than chicken wings. I ain't THAT old.
slainte39
HappyJ has got it right…….similar but not exactly the same thing. He hung out in late night haggis joints that didn´t do much business in the daylight either. Now he wants to revisit that formative part of his life. Canada-Mike
First thing I do when I get up North, well, maybe second, is go to Duff's Wings on Bayview in Toronto. They know what they're doing.
