freewilly
I have a Toyota with a blowing fuse. I checked with a service in Texas and they said it is a problem that requires a lot of time because the circuit has many small accessories on it. My first thought is a good auto electrician or a general service here that would have seen the problem before. Do you have any recommendations? zerbit
This is where a Toyota forum online can be your friend. Search a few forums specific to your year, make and model. You might find it’s a common issue. After balking at the dealership price of $400 USD to change a Prius headlight, I searched online, found a trick ( from a Toyota dealership mechanic ) and did my own for the cost of the bulb and 10 minutes.

They don't call them "stealerships" for nothing.
Oatsie
Check with Roberto at Hernandez Llantera - beside Tony's, just west of Super Lake. His brother in Chapapa is an auto electric wizard and both speak good English.

freewilly
So a friend has suggested Escalera in Riberas. I stopped by and Carlos speaks excellent English and I have made an appointment. He is general service but includes electrical. I will give him a shot unless folks have had bad experiences... freewilly
Oh, and he has a large modern shop with lifts and everything!
Ferret
He's a good guy and his facility is much more reliable now that a certain relative of his is no longer working there. They've done good work for me but none of it was electrical.
freewilly
I highly recommend Carlos escalera. I would say probably the best mechanic shop that I have ever dealt with anywhere period. he diagnosed my fuse problem which I had been warned in the states would take a couple of days for a very reasonable price. He fixed another problem the shops in the States were unable to fix for next to nothing. He got in a specialist to make a key for me without having to make a separate trip.he suggested couple of places to take my car to have things done that he doesn't do like a wheel alignment. I'm sure there's other shops that are very good but I would not hesitate to go back and deal with him and have an enjoyable experience with a good mechanic who speaks good English.
