Rucy
I will be in the Chapala area for the month of November and would like to get a recommendation for a plastics physician for eyelid surgery. I would prefer personal experience recommendation or if someone knows a physician that specializes in eyes. I had some surgery and need correction. Would like contact info to make appointment if you have it. Thanks so much.
RickS
A number of years ago (10?) I had upper and lower eye lid surgery in Guadalajara by Dra. Guadalupe Ortriz Salazar. Her office is/was at the Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Zapopan. I was/am still very pleased with the surgery and results. At the time I did some research like you are doing here. A local Ajijic resident, herself a retired Doctor from the States, had the surgery done by Dra. Ortiz after a recommendation from her Mexican Opthomologist (?). She was impressed with Dr. Ortiz and highly recommended her to me. Good luck with your search and surgery! https://www.tocdoc.com/doctor/dra-maria-guadalupe-ortiz-salazar

Ferret
Please excuse my intrusion on your thread. I am wondering what the difference is between a plastic surgeon who does everything on the face, including eyelids, and the one you specifically asked for? If the eyelid is hooding the eye and affecting vision, then I see why the Ophthalmologist suggested the surgery but can't most plastic surgeons do that? Curious. Willie
I had this procedure done at the recommendation of my then ophthalmologist, by a specialist in this procedure - supposedly! Now my eyelids do not close completely!!!! So my eyes dry out at night and I use gel drops at night to help with this and they do work well. They surgeon suggested that I tape my eyelids down at night! Arrrggh...grrrrr. Be careful and ask LOTS of questions, I was too trusting. I am an RN in the U.S. and have worked with a lot of plastic surgeons. The difference is simply that the more same type procedures a physician does the better he/she gets at it. The eyes need special care to not change the shape or make them look smaller. It doesn't make a general plastics physician bad, it is just the better of two options. My first question to a plastics doctor is how many eye lid surgeries do you do a week/month/year. Does that help. I'd do the same for any plastics person regardless of the body part to be amended. 1

He was recommended to me by a friend who had a wonderful face-lift with him. I saw him today for a consultation to find out about the eyes. The upper lid is $14,000 pesos and the lower eye lid is $16,000. www.plasticalift.com 376-688-1820 Thank you for your response.
