Accessibility in Ajijic?

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone was looking at your wondering if anyone has any information about accessibility within Ajijic and surrounding areas. My mother is 76, interested in coming to Ajijic for a few days to check it out. But she had a stroke a year and a half ago and has some mobility issues. Her balance isn't great and her left foot is turned out and left leg drags a bit.

When I was in Ajijic nothing seemed accessible. Cobblestone streets hard to walk on even for me. Sidewalks narrow and uneven and irregular. All sorts of precarious little walkwaysu and steps everywhere. Would there be places she could stay and ways to get around?

Agree.  None of the local communities are great when it comes to accessibility but Chapala is probably the best among them.

This is not a good place for the physically handicapped to live IMO.  You can do it but the opportunities for mobility are far less than NOB.
