shortstop
My 6 year old google tablet will no longer fully charge. It's been plugged in for 10 hours & only at 13%. Should I be looking for a new one or is it possible to replace the battery? Thanks for any info.
Ferret
You might want to try replacing the charging cable first. Available at Sterens opposite Walmart. Or, it could be that the USB port you're using is toast.... Or... ? Do the easy stuff first.
sm1mex
Or try Bennos. 1

MtnMama
Mr Google is your friend. Enter the make & model and 'replace battery'. You will at least know IF the battery is replaceable and if the cost is more than replacing the tablet.
utilitus
OP aka Shorty probably has a Nexus 7 (w or w/o LTE), as I do. Perfect size. Fine instrument, but getting old. Here is a website demonstrating the replacement of the battery. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzknIzaAijQ Used to design and built my own computers, so I looked forward to working on my N7, but came across a brand new but year old model of Amazon Fire HD 8" tablet I could stuff to a total of 90 Gb, all for $60 (as I recall). Bit bigger than the N7, probably faster, not as handy, but easier to read. Crummy camera.
gimpychimp
If it is the 2013 model of the Nexus 7 tablet, it is quite easy to change the battery as shown in the video and it only costs about 15 USD to buy one. I have a spare one I bought a year ago which is unused, if you need it.
