Jeanneboo
Can anyone tell me where I could find an under the tongue Fahrenheit thermometer? Thanks.
Ferret
It is unlikely you will find a Fahrenheit thermometer in a metric country like Mexico. All Farmacias sell under the tongue thermometers though... best chances are Farmacia Cristina in the Bugambilia's plaza or Farmacia Guadalajara or Walmart. Edited to add: for the record 37 Celsius is normal body temp. as compared to 98.6 Fahrenheit

Jeanneboo
That's what I was afraid of. I was hoping that someone might have a couple for those of us who are metric illiterate.
Ferret
I edited my post Jeanneboo to tell you what "normal" is in Celsius. You can also find a conversion site using google... just like for dollars and pesos.
MarkWebles
98.6f = 37c. Easy peas.

Jeanneboo
I am aware of the conversion possibilities but would rather not have to do that. I have to take my temperature frequently due to a fever of unknown origin and want to make it easy on myself. Thanks for the thoughts though. ComputerGuy
The last glass under-tongue I got has both, and I'm pretty sure it was Walmart. Because these things are mass-produced for shipment all over the world, they usually have both. Also good to note that digital under-tongue thermometers allow you to switch between F and C.

mudgirl
FYI Burma, Liberia and the USA are the only countries in the world that don't use the metric system. 2
johanson
I asked Mr Google that question; and he told me that: "Today, countries that use the Fahrenheit include the Bahamas, Palau, Belize, the Cayman Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and the United States and its territories such as Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam." So you can see that all of the important countries still use Fahrenheit.
