Mostlylost
Does anyone have the current information on the requirements of CFE for a solar connection. Also the cost for the change of the meter? Thanks

Mostlylost
Not looking for installers. Thanks
Ferret
I think it would be a good idea to call ALL installers and ask because it is usually the installers who take the paperwork in to organize CFE once the installation is done. For the record, 15 months ago, there was NO charge for the meter or for changing it.
Mostlylost
I did it 4 years ago myself. Just trying to save a trip to CFE engineering in Chapala for my neighbor.
Go Solar
CFE has upped the details required in the solar interconnection process, there is the application stage, and then the contract stage The application stage requirements include: Imagenes de la instalacion (installation images)….and they do now also come out to inspect each site being applied for numeros de serie de los equipos instalados (serial #'s and ) recibo de cfe (CFE receipt, account must be in good standing of course) copia de la identificacion del cliente (photo ID for the name on the existing CFE account) documentos del gestor (documents of the manager handling the process / installation) ubicacion del lugar (location coordinates) diagrama unifilar (detailed wiring line diagram) certificados de los equipos (equipment certifications showing it is in compliance with MXN standards / regs) fichas tecnicas de los equipos (spec sheets with the complete technical details of all components; panels, inverters, shut-off, etc) There is no "charge" for the meter, apart from a "meter deposit" fee of about 400 pesos that goes on the 1st solar bill after the meter change.
Ferret
Thanks Go Solar. If that list doesn't magnify the reason for having a professional installer, I don't know what would. 1
Go Solar
If the CFE account is in the name of a company or organization, then their "escritura" (legal documents of structure / incorporation or similar) will be needed, along with the ID of the signing authority such as the head of the board or manager with power of attorney. STI has done these for several fraccs in the area with no issues, and currently in process with the new system for the Cruz Roja Chapala, thanks to all the great supporters who have helped make this happen. Will make a big difference in their financials to save the CFE bills they've been having to pay, and they'll be able to keep more and better supplies and / or buy new ambulances more readily / regularly with the improved cash flow.
Mostlylost
Thank you for the current requirements. Looks almost the same as the one I did but now serial numbers. Before they said they would inspect but never did. Just installed the meter. Do they still want the info on a CD? Thanks again
