Planting trees future

Ethiopia set a record of planting 350 million trees within 12 hours. CDMX also had a mass planting. There is an old parable, with a mysterious history, that society is served when old men plant trees when they know they will never enjoy their shade. This, coinciding with the discovery of supplier of economical grafted trees from Veracruz, has made me think how much joy a macadamia or pecan nut tree (for example) would be enjoyed by many Mexicans for many generations to come, bearing abundant fruits or nuts long after the planter(s) are gone. It would also help the enviroment. Is anybody interested in this? A club or charity that gets permission and advice as to plant public trees, a small fund to provide Mexican gardeners to maintain these trees, and a plaque for those who want to remember a fallen loved one with a tree.

Just west of the Raquet Club they had a tree planting program about 10 years ago. Most of the trees are now dead as they weren't watered. Someone has to organize something better. Be very selective in what you plant. Some do much better than others here. Macadamia can be so so here.
