ComputerGuy
Power started flickering around 8:30 last night. Mostly flickering off. Then at 9 it went out completely. A few minutes later, there was a transformer explosion heard from the west area (this is lower Chula Vista). We packed up and left, and from another house reported the problem to CFE about 11 pm. They told us no one had reported the problem, and they refused to take the report without the Account Number of CFE. Well what would we be doing walking around with a CFE bill in our pockets? This morning we called a neighbour and got his account number and reported again. Still, no one had reported it. CFE will not do anything until they get at least two reports. Please, anyone who lives in the area... if you want your power back on in this lifetime, call the 071 number and make a report. Yes, it will be a Spanish conversation, but with their anti-business attitude, it's worth a try. They will want your address and account number. For a neighbourhood to be without power for more than 12 hours, with no response from the utility, is unacceptable. It appears they don't even have computerized grids that will tell them when a transformer blows or power is out. Of all the lovely reasons for living here, the CFE is not one of them. ... reported from a Dark Place...
ladner
Ours came back on after about two - three hours last night, but apparently the Del Roble area is still out.
ladner
When we reported it to 071 about 9pm, some one else already had done so. Maybe the lower Chula vista area is broken up into a number of service divisions. We thought it was the transformer at the east end of Del Parque that went. ComputerGuy
Noon Saturday and still out on del Roble and surrounds. I know CFE hires call takers who sit in their own homes, but the lack of communication is astounding.
