Kitty sitting, or private room in house with cats

Recommended Posts

Retired English professor, recent widower, Canadian expat in South Korea 20 years, household family of 7 rescued cats will have to be put to sleep -- older Koreans generally dislike cats, would like to move to Chapala region, walking not good -- bad knee pain -- will probably have to buy a tiny city car to get around and shop.   Need a local guide to introduce me to inexpensive living / culture.

Not much in the way of inexpensive living here anymore. Prices have skyrocketed due to the influx of extranjeros seeking inexpensive living who overpay for everything from rent to local guides. If your life in Korea isn't horrific and you can get around, consider yourself fortunate and stay with your animals.

"Inexpensive" is a relative term.... so a little better guideline from you might help with suggestions. It's cheaper to live on the south shore of the lake, but the trade-off is a lack of some of the things you might consider essential, .and certainly means getting in your car for almost all the things you want or need. And you will-definitely be immersed in Mexican culture as not too many foreigners over there.

I think we would have to know more about what you consider inexpensive and how bad your disability is. These are "cobblestone" streets, but a more accurate description would be "sometimes-flat-rocks-embedded-in-concrete". If you have serious problems walking, then you should either look elsewhere or visit and see for yourself whether you can handle it. Even some very fit people have issues with walking here, moreso depending on the amount of liquid pain killer one has imbibed.
