Pax_Orbis 9
A few months ago I noticed a reply in which someone offered a cargo trailer and/or a cargo van to deliver household goods from Texas. I tried to do my homework, but without success. I did several searches and could not locate that earlier post/reply. Does anyone here offer such a service now? I have a single load coming here from Houston suitable for a tandem axle trailer or large cube van. Thanks in advance.
oregontochapala 686
I may be alone in this line of thinking, but all that is involved in transporting that quantity of goods across the border and delivering to this area is best done by pros with a history that is verifiable. Too many things could go very wrong otherwise. Strom White or Lake Chapala Moving.
RVGRINGO 2,085
I understand that, to bring goods that are not your own, used household goods, would require licenses and permits of an interstate nature. You can bring your own stuff, but you cannot hire out to be a 'mudanza' without proper government permits.
PJPJ 28
About 10 years ago I crossed at Laredo bringing my partners (Female) luggage with me as she wanted to fly, I was stopped and inspected.. Was told you can only bring your own items into the country.. But they would let me go this time... It was explained to me that you can only bring your own personal items in to the country.. All the items I had were used.. If They had been new items it would been far more serious....

oregontochapala 686
From Sonia Diaz today- Every week I read or I am asked to intervene when people send one or more boxes of personal items via courier to Mexico. Quite frequently, these are clothing and shoes and sometimes fabric. Aduana (Customs) will often not clear the items or they ask for a huge fee not relative to the value of the contents. At this point the courier walks away and you are on your own. I have seen contents work many hundreds of dollars and more sent from Canada, the US, Middle East, Asia, etc having this issue. When it happens the likelihood of clearing Aduana is minimal. If at all possible please avoid sending boxes of personal items to Mexico.
