Fred Habacht
I know Lydia's med supply place sells the water bottles....are there other suppliers? Thanks
chapalence
I would use distilled water, available at Superlake by the gallon for about $50. Sterile Water vs Distilled Water. ... Sterile water has usually been boiled to kill anything living in the water, but it still has other things in it. Distilled water is made to get you as close to pure H2O as possible - no bacteria, no chemicals, no impurities, etc

Floradude
How about buying bottled water and boiling it? Seems easy and inexpensive, or am I missing something.
AngusMactavish
I have never seen the requirement or recommendation to use sterile water and only see distilled water suggested when a mineral deposit is possible in the jar. Are you chasing a problem that may not exist?
RVGRINGO
Distillagion involves boiling at 212ºF, and then condensing the steam back to liquid water. Minerals and contaminants are left behind. The result is "Distilled Water".
chapalence
"How about buying bottled water and boiling it? Seems easy and inexpensive, or am I missing something." Personally, as hard as the water is here I won't use anything but distilled in anything needing water where mineral deposits will affect performance and longevity. Concentrators, like CPAPs are expensive to replace and simply boiling the water does not remove all the minerals. 2

That will involve boiling questionable water in a closed container, forcing the steam into a cooling coil, where it will condense and drip into another container as distilled water. This process is well known by uneducated hillbillies in the far reaches of Appalachia, and is often refered to as a "still". However, few of them stop at distilled water; nor do they start with just plain water in the boiler.

No bacteria, no chemicals, no impurities, but also no naturally occuring minerals. It's "dead" water.
sm1mex
Use distilled water called Agua sin minerales. Look for it at Walmart. May be back by the farmacia.
