traderspoc Posted June 22, 2019 Report Share Posted June 22, 2019 VOLUNTEERS WANTED Have Hammer...Will Travel is a nonprofit organization that teaches valuable life skills to Mexican youth/adults through woodworking and carpentry. We are seeking volunteers to help with any of the tasks required to keep HHWT's resources moving forward, such as: · creation of small or large products that are custom-ordered · photography (including use of Dropbox) · communications and public relations (eg., newsletter, notice blasts, newspaper articles) · 3D design (eg., furniture measurements and plans, drafting designs) · website management · fundraising · grant writing (eg., to related unions, Rotary Clubs, related companies, etc.) · monitoring and evaluation (eg., student skills and performance, products, attendance) · office and student records (eg., liability info, product photos and records, hours attended, tuition paid, etc.) · electrical work (basic electrical work with lights and machines/tools) · woodworking machine/tool repair · cleaning and facilities maintenance. We are looking for experienced woodworkers who can help create small or large products that are custom-ordered. We also seek woodworking instructors for children, youth, and young adults, including basic carpentry, wood carving, chip carving, and lathe-turning instructors. We welcome someone who can arrange an occasional Saturday workshop with expert woodworkers. These opportunities don't require immediate Spanish skills but provide a meaningful venue for acquiring some Spanish. Plus, the small, dedicated board of directors is enjoyable to work with.
