CHILLIN
so now we leave the hot dry season, into the wet mosquito season, then to the chilly fireplace season. The very popular Repel insect repellent, based on Lemon Eucalyptus oil is now available from Amazon Mexico. It is much more expensive than in the north, but they will not ship from there (liquids, etc). Spray on your clothing or any exposed skin.Smells nice, good for up to 7 hours per dose. There is another natural repellent made in Guadalajara but it is not as effective as lemon eucalyptus oil which is not harvested commercially in Mexico. Mainecoons
Give blood. Be happy! My mosquitos are very pleased with me as they not only get a meal they get a cocktail with it. 1
CHILLIN
There something in that. When I grew up as a wild boy in Northern B.C., the mosquitoes and black flies were legendary. We never used repellents. It wasn't really too bad, maybe it was the wild boy stank (Missionaries famously made the indigenous to bathe regularly, but they revolted because the big bites were twice as bad). Anyways, the first bites of the season were always itchy and red. By the end of the season you could watch them draw blood, then kill them (of course), but there would be no itching or swelling. To me, it was an early course as to the possibilities at least, of homeopathic medicine. Just got buzzed by a male mosquito, remember the males are the ones that whine and they do not bite. The females are silent. Just read a fascinating study about how to eliminate aTsetse fly epidemic in Africa. The males are desexed by radiation then reintroduced back into the problem areas. They reproduce with the females but cannot produce offspring. The problem though is like the fight against Ebola virus - the locals become convinced that this some evil scheme. The females are silent. Mosquitoes' wings make an annoying buzz or whining sound whenever they fly. Both male and female mosquitoes buzz, since they both have wings. The buzz of female mosquitoes makes males want to mate with them. Some people say that mosquitoes which buzz don't bite. Well, that's true. As long as they're buzzing, they're flying, so they won't bite you. But as soon as they land, look out!
