Any info about where to get this procedure, the cost and other details would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Kyle
Big price difference between Maskara and Tolsa. do you know why? thanks
bojackson
I had one performed yesterday at the new Hospital San Antonio here in Ajijic by gastroenterologist Dr. Daniel Briseno. The total charge was $14,580. I had a polyp removed which was sent to the laboratory in Guadalajara for biopsy which added an extra $1,680.00MX to the price. so without the biopsy the charge would have been $12,900MX. I paid the doctor in cash, $6,000, and the hospital bill was $8,580.00. The crap you have to drink the day before the procedure, 4 packets/2 liters total, cost $500MX. It was done under partial anesthesia so not much discomfort. Believe me, the prep was far worse than the actual procedure. Nice new facility here and very courteous staff. Overall a good experience.

I have have it done twice at Tolsa. Very professional staff. Good equipment. Absolutely no reason to go elsewhere unless you don't want to go to Guad, and you have deep pockets. Quality Care's # is: 376-766-1870. Buena suerte.
Arroyos
I have had three done through Dr. Leon's office. His office arranges a team to come from GDL on Saturday mornings and they perform the procedure in the Ajijic Hospital. You are totally sedated so feel nothing. Yes the prep. the day before is the worst part, but you can't avoid it. I seem to recall that my last one cost somewhere around 5000 pesos. A previous one showed a polyp which was removed and analyzed for 500 p. The new San Antonio Hospital is new and is bound to cost more than existing places. RickS
.....totally sedated. I hope this does not mean that you were put way under like was done years ago. Not needed and hard on old bodies. ALL colonoscopies done in the US are just mild sedation.... the kind that one wakes up from quickly and remembers all but the actual experience.
Bjorn
.... the difference in $$$ between New Hospital (Maskaras) and Lab Tolsa is that Doctor comes from Guadalajara and Tolsa they have all the personnel, equipment and doctors there and you go there. bmh
In Guadaljara you are close to qualify surgeon who can operate on you f they but your intestin, Lakeside you may or may not be close. think about that , it is not a question of price when you have a hole in your guts. It happened to a young man I know in Chiapas yesterday and they operated on him rightawy and he was saved,, here you are on your own if there is no surgeon available. 3

A friend had hers punctured at a clinic here. Not that I plan to ever put myself through another, but I agree that this should ONLY be done in a hospital with a surgeon on staff. 3
