My husband and I are looking for a good doctor to take care of us. We are both a bit over 60, so general things such as annual physicals, blood work, etc that a senior would need. A male doctor is preferred. Thank you.

I have used Dr. Carlos Garcia, now at the new Hospital San Antonio.  He's an internist and has the best specialists referrals, most of which travel to Lakeside once a week.  I am on his program, one flat yearly fee for as many visits as possible, plus annual physical, complete with EKG.  I've been more than satisfied in the last ten years.

I second this recommendation. She even does house calls.

Even if she's the best G.P. in town (and I agree that she is) she's definitely a "she".  My husband prefers female doctors.  Why?  He thinks they are generally more caring and less ego centered.  Just one man's opinion, of course.😉  However, I agree.

Would you say how much you pay for the flat year fee?

Is Dr. Garcia full time at lakeside?

He owns Maskaras Clinic and will be one of the key people running San Antonio Hospital to which Maskaras Clinic is moving. Has worked and lived full time in lakeside since sometime in the mid 90’s when he opened Maskaras making him one of the earliest physicians in lakeside.

5600 pesos is the flat year fee for 2019. Individual consultations are 700 each without it. I see him monthly so the savings for me is almost 3000 pesos. Do the math on yourself to see if it would benefit you.

I am a seven year patient of his.

I may have have to reconsider my male preference. She sounds highly recommended.

The first time I got poked and prodded in all those really personal places by a lady doctor I realized the biggest difference between a lady doctor and a man doctor is the size of their fingers. I like lady doctors.

I too, was a long term patient of Dr Garcia and have a lot of respect for his abilities. I enrolled in his first programme and the cost was (brace yourself) $1500 pesos. That should give you all some idea of how long ago that started.

First year here based on glowing reports on local forums, enrolled in that 1 year programme. After quarter year left the rest of our money behind gladly and went to another GP.

I should have mentioned Dra. Flores' excellent qualities as a physician: observant, confident, caring. She listened to me very carefully. That is important when we want to work as a team. She is also highly skilled because of a few health recommendations.

I have a Doc up north and Doctor Carlos Garcia down here.  I have had great luck with Doctor Garcia, and greatly appreciate what he has done for me and others in the community.

What I have learned over the 22 years I have been coming down here, is that there are quite a few excellent doctors lakeside serving the expat community. And no matter how good these Docs are, there will always be a few who believe that they received bad service from one of these excellent doctors. And they very well could have. No doctor is perfect.

Jessica  saved my life three years ago, shes the best

she actually cares about you

Been here 10 years been to five different doctors on occasion, all did  a good job, but

but Jessica is the one you want to get a basic exam with, so she has your profile, and if you fall or something medical happens,

her telephone is the one you want in your cell phone when a emergency happens.

refer your friends to her help her grow her business

when the new hospital is up and running, i am sure she will be using it
