ComputerGuy
Friday and Saturday Pancho's has Brandon out front cooking two kinds of steak. Went over tonight around 7:30 to check it out (6 to 9) and the place was absolutely packed. Discovered one really must make reservations. Wine bottles were everywhere, and the echoing noise of fairly-high gringos was deafening. The steaks must be pretty good; price is $150 for either kind. No idea how good; we left rather than face at least a 60-minute wait. All power to him; glad to see a success.
slainte39
Went last week, steaks, ribeye and New York are thinner cuts but flavor OK, as grilled outside on wood. Not exactly carne asada thickness but less than any good steak house that serves Argentine or US style of thickness. Salad and some kind of roasted potatoes comes with it, neither one special as salad was a little limp and they only had chipotle and horse radish??? salad dressing, couldn´t even come up with vinegar and oil. For a few pesos more there are several places locally that can and do, do better.
ComputerGuy
I find the thinness is a real issue around here with steaks. A ribeye that curls at the edge is not a good cut.
