Dialysis at Lakeside

Are there any clinics at Lakeside yet that do kidney dialysis?

I can only tell you what I have been told from a friend that is taking someone to dialysis twice a week.

There are 2 clinics in/near Ajijic that do dialysis. They are both full at all times and they are not taking on new patients. My friend has to take her patient to Guadalajara.

The Chapala municipality is also working on a clinic, no date as of yet.

I am told that many people here, obviously wealthy, have home based dialysis equipment. Maybe a nurse comes in to do the needle work.

I was under the impression dialysis equipment was every expensive.... and therefore I  am very surprised by your observation of many

$10,000 U.S. or so. Factor in trips to Guadalajara three times a week, and the treatment costs, for the rest of your life, not a bad option. Cheaper than a second vehicle. Getting the equipment into Mexico would be the problem.
