At my latitude I'd love to end DST but...keep it at the "spring-ahead" time.

I want to STAY on DST year-round.  AZ stays on MST year-round and while we enjoyed not having to change clocks 2x a year, it gets dark too early in the winter.  If you stay on DST year-round you will have longer afternoon sunshine.

CA voters approved a referendum in Nov. 2018 to stay on DST year round but it needs state legislature vote of two-thirds.  After that hurdle, it needs Federal approval.

Today we are on CST (Central Standard Time); tomorrow we will be on CDT (Central Daylight Time).

Quote

Daylight saving time (DST), also daylight savings time or daylight time (United States) and summer time (United Kingdom, European Union, and others), is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months so that evening daylight lasts longer, while sacrificing normal sunrise times. Typically, regions that use daylight saving time adjust clocks forward one hour close to the start of spring and adjust them backward in the autumn to standard time.
