maggiemae
Is it true that the new Jalisco traffic laws will no longer allow right turns at red lights? Are there other changes about which we should be informed?
RVGRINGO
As far as I know, a right turn on red has always been prohibited, unless there is a sign specifically permitting it. There was such a sign at the intersection of Madero, turning right, westbound, onto Hidalgo, in Chapala. It may still be there (In Spanish, of course).
AngusMactavish
As far as I know, a right on red after a complete stop has been legal in all Mexican states for ten plus years, unless there is a sign specifically prohibiting it. Mainecoons
I looked this up and it appears RV is correct although sources note the restriction is widely ignored.

Mainecoons
https://www.mexbound.com/driving-in-mexico/ Quote You can get a citation for taking a right on red when Driving In Mexico although you will see many drivers doing it anyway http://www.mayanbeachgarden.com/TravelInfo_driving.htm Quote In Mexico, it is illegal to make a right turn on a red light. However, taxis do it all the time!

Floradude
I think we need to see the specific law for Jalisco on making a right turn at a red light.
RVGRINGO
If you need to see it, the Jalisco government does have a website, where you may read page after page of explicit details on traffic laws. I did that once, just for practice. Yes, it is tedious, but the information you seek is there in very clear Spanish. 👀
