Lyn
Hi I have seriously major dental work needed including crowns and bridges on all teeth, possible bone grafts, and even maybe permanent dentures. I also have a mandibular issue that needs to be accounted for. It is way too expensive to get done here and because we are looking into retiring in the Chapala area we plan to visit and get the dental work done there as well. I posted a few months ago and got some good recommendations that I have since researched (thank you everyone) and I am now down to a small list that I would love some local feedback on. I know that this will involve multiple visits over many months. Price is important but quality of work is more important. The four that I have come up with are: Dr Barragan Dr Haro Dr Candy Dr Tavizon (in Gualdalajara) Can anyone contribute their thoughts on these Dentists? Kyle
BMV Dental. My husband and several friend have had MAJOR dental work done. The doctors come from Guad. And are fantastic. The price will be much less than those you mentioned. Give them a chance, get a quote and see how you like them. You won't be disappointed
sm1mex
Dra. Candy but she is going on maternity leave mid April.
Ferret
Dr. Haro. If you have the time, you should make appointments with any that you are interested in and see what they ALL have to say... especially if there's big bucks involved. Ask all your questions and see with whom you are most comfortable.

rvanparys
Haro's office completed a bridge for me recently. The cost was 1300 USD... Excellent work... The price included an extraction...

And that included two extractions, and several fittings and adjustments.

johanson
I choose Dr. Haro. Yes, he charges slightly more than many offices, but I know and trust him. I am sure there are others here who may be just as good and perhaps charge less. But I already know Dr. Haro is good and do not wish to spend time looking for another who may be just as good and more economical.

Not to dispute the Poster or Dr. Haro’s office, but..... without knowing the extent to “a bridge”, it would be impossible to tell if $1300 US is a good price or not. A bridge can be as little as 2 teeth, and if that was the case then $1300 US is way expensive. 12-15 months ago I had a 3-tooth bridge done by Dental Express. That office uses the latest digital imaging system and the CEREC system to enable a better product, faster. The results was phenomenal with margins so good that my back home dentist was impressed. Total cost, without extraction, was $925 US. As Ibbocat suggested above, if one needs some serious dental work, all requiring interaction with the other, I’d put Dental Express and Dr. Edgard personally on my list to check out. RVGRINGO
A two tooth bridge replacememt (of a 35 year old bridge), without extraction, was fitted and installed within 24 hours, and the cost, with cleaning and diagnosis was $855.00 USD in Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas just recently. Perfect fit!

Ferret
I have a four tooth bridge BUT it was secured on two implants. Nobody can say what the price is until you are comparing exactly the same work done.

Eric Blair
I highly recommend AGAINST Dra. Sandra near Superlake. My vote is for Dr. Jose who "interned" at Dental Bright for 2+ years. Small, unassuming office 2 blocks West of LCS. He does excellent work, brings in specialists as needed and doesn't put a Gringo Tax on his work. 376-755 5993
Joyinmexico
Dental Express has taken care of me for 9 years. I had a bridge that they were worried about (wiggly, glue bad) done in the states they and very carefully took it off (could have broke it to make more $$) but saved it, cleaned it, re-glued it and said I will now have it the rest of my days, charging me next to nothing. They also did root canals and an implant. Very easy-peasy and so affordable. GREAT staff but if you are wanting special care, ask for the head dentist (sorry, forget his name) but he & his staff are VERY up on dental and care. Alfa
If you can't afford treatment in the US you can't afford Dr Haro although he is undeniably a good dentist.
Ferret
That is a ridiculous statement! For what I had done, I couldn't have (read wouldn't have) paid the price in the U.S. or Canada. Every single situation is different. GET AN ESTIMATE at any Dentist in this thread. We get estimates for other major work like on a car or a house renovation. Why is this any different? johanson
Alfa, I agree with Ferret: Yes Dr. Haro charges more than most dentists in the area, but he charges a small fraction of what I would pay up north were I to go back to my US dentist. RickS
I have not used Dr. Haro's office for several years.... and then it was not really Dr. Haro..... but when I did the service was very good and the prices came no where near what I was being asked in Colorado at the time. He is "probably" the most expensive dentist Lakeside but the reviews are almost always good.
