Carolina
Any suggestions on who would be my best bet for duplicating a favorite dress that's falling apart from age? They could take apart the old one to use as a pattern. TIA.
Xena
I know several people who have had great success doing this at Oh Shirt! on the highway going out to Mezcala not too far out of Chapala.
pattya119
Alma Gutierrez...Seamstress on Lloyd Drive, around the corner from Cafe Negro. She took one of my favorite dresses, and made 3 new ones!! I do suggest that you bring your own material. Her choice of material was great, but I maybe would have picked a lighter weight. mudgirl
I don't have any idea whether the seamstresses mentioned would think to suggest this, but if the fabric you choose has a chance of shrinking (i.e. cotton) you should wash it and dry it before having it made up, so it shrinks as much as it's going to before it's made.
