Mainecoons
Translated: Manuel Jacobo (Chapala, Jal). - The Internal Comptroller of the municipality together with the State has detected irregularities for 5 million 110 thousand 379 pesos in 21 works applied in the municipality of Chapala, the full report will be given next month and may be the amount and works increase. During the administration of Javier Degollado, with funds from the Social Infrastructure Fund for Entities (FISE), preference was given to infrastructure, and other concepts such as equipment, education, health and others were discovered, so they fear punish them in this 2019. In the words of President Moisés Alejandro Anaya Aguilar, what is at stake is the FISE program, "which is one of the most noble programs because you get a monthly percentage and you can invest in infrastructure, equipment, in many things, there are percentages established. " On these irregularities, "the Internal Control Officer is already doing the procedures to quote them and apply the procedure so that they have the right to a hearing and for them they can justify at the time," said President Moisés. In addition, "We are already preparing the complaints, and I say this with all respect, without offending and without the intention of not going against anyone, but it is a personal justification because I do not want the program to be lost, so it is an issue of self-protection "(sic), complemented. Among the works that have the most observations is the construction of the drainage network on Hidalgo Avenue, between Independencia and Herrera streets, in Atotonilquillo, the Chapala branch. The amount is 577 thousand 813 pesos with 19 cents. In the municipal seat, the work of desazolve and maintenance of rain drains is done in all of Chapala, but the amount under observation and that has not been corroborated is one million 311 thousand 380 pesos. In the Ajijic delegation, supposedly a patrolling and paving work was carried out, as there is no evidence that these works have been carried out, the observation is made for 259 thousand 382 pesos. The remodeling and change of the municipal library "Profa. Paula Real Lopez ", involved expenses, of which the city has an observation for 117 thousand 750 pesos that have not been proven, of the 400 thousand pesos that at the time the director of the DIF system said to have invested. The authorities of Chapala point out that this is a part of what has been found, so that until now they are in the process of verification and validation, once the work is completed, the total observations will be announced. bmh
In Corsica, one of the crooked departmentin France , the municipalities start sidewalks and other public works, never finish and split the money with the people in charge of doing the work , it seems that in other places they do not even start...😄
giltner68
I joined this forum in 2006, moved to Riberas in 2007-2014 and have heard and read of a continuing stream of corruption before, during and since. My question to you is why do you expect anything different than the "business as usual" in MX?
Mainecoons
I suspect this is just the tip of the iceberg with that last administration. I've heard some interesting stories from well placed local folks. I'm surprised the Bridge to Jesus isn't on the list...yet.
HarryB
the first phase is to find out what they did. The second phase is for us to demand what will be done about it.

So why would the municipal government care what we think? We can't change the balance of power.
Taaffe
We pay taxes to have roads fixed; that money was stolen.
ComputerGuy
That money has been stolen by every administration for at least the last five presidente's, since I've been paying attention. I'm certain that many before did the same, and many more will in future. Maybe this new guy, maybe not. It's very difficult to turn down 100s of 1000s of pesos in what amounts to untraceable funds. The difference is we are getting figures from the new Presidente, perhaps for the first time ever, concerning misappropriations. Whether that actually means anything, who knows. Al Berca
Sounds like business as usual in the Municipio of Chapala. Happens consistently with zero consequences. Why expect a different outcome this year? Especially, since two of the major culprits are now on the new City Council.
