cedros
This plant appeared out of my jungle. It just started flowering. It looks like a vine but my gardener says it is a tree.
earlyretirement
Hi Cedros, It looks to be Jatropha integerrima, commonly known as Peregrina or Spicy Jatropha. There is a free App on both Android and iOS called PictureThis Plant. You just snap a photo (I uploaded your photo) and it can instantly come back with what plant. Surprisingly accurate in my experience. Score one for your jardinero! https://floridata.com/Plants/Euphorbiaceae/Jatropha integerrima/
cedros
Thanks. I think that is it. I will have to recheck the leaves once it gets light. Very interesting App.

Yo1
You can trim it anyway you want. Mine is a small tree in a pot and is 6 feet tall. Most of the leaves are at the top and it flowers almost constantly. The cutter ants like it but it comes back really well.
