There is only one process. Doesn't mater what you want to name it. The vehicle must be imported into Mexico by a licensed customs broker. This can only be done at the border. It must also be legally exported by the US government. This also needs to be done at the border as well. It is a 2 day process.

Anyone who offers you a different method is a thief. The plates  issued illegally from Mexico City are illegal, and the documents are issued illegally. If you are in an accident your insurance won't pay, your vehicle will be impounded, and you will go to jail. You will need to pay a large fine.

Legally imported vehicles will have a small blue & white sticker placed on the windshield by Aduana at the border point of importation. No sticker = illegal.

I have seen forged titles and documents in the USA also.  Illegal is illegal in Mexico and the USA

AGREE!! And remember only certain vehicles meet the requirements for this process. (Make,  model, year, etc.)
