Lakeside Physician Recommendation needed

Recommended Posts

Need to find a good primary physician who is connected with a variety of specialists. Have reached out to Quality Care in the Plaza but have not heard back. They seem to have a few primary care physicians there. Anyone have experience with Quality Care primary doctors and have a recommendation for one? We already know about Dr. Leon but Quality Care is most convenient. Any other doctors here at Lakeside who have great connections to quality specialists? Thanks for any info you can provide!

Quality Care physicians are excellent; however, the problem with using them as a primary care Md is they are only here one or two days a week.

I at least want my primary care physician to be located here at Lakeside.  If I am sick I want help now...not next Wednesday if you can get an appointment.   Having said that I do use the specialists at Quality Care routinely when I need them.

Dr. Jessica Flores is my personal physician.  She's a local G.P. with an office open daily and will make house calls, too.  I've been seeing her for several years and am very well satisfied.

Location:  Guadalupe Victoria 101 C

Telephone: 331 050 4287

That's good to know about Quality Care, appreciate your insight.

Dra. Carla is a general physician, and charges less than the Guadalajara specialists. She sometimes works for Dr. Hector Briseno when he has a large batch of patients requiring an EKG. I don't know what she charges for a housecall, but the specialists charge MXP 1,000. I also recommend Dra. Ana Gabriela Flores, what she doesn't know, she finds out. She is very well connected, and well liked, with a variety of specialists in Mexico and around the world. Once you meet her you will understand why, she is smart as a whip, but also a great personality. She is the Head of Department for Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine in a large, Tier III public hospital in Guadalajara.

One I do not recommend, based on my own personal experience, is Santiago Hernandez.

My opinion as well is that Dr. S. Hernandez is not as knowledgeable as he thinks he is.  I was put off by his superior attitude and condescendence to my concerns and questions.  Yes,

his English is fluent but his attitude is too demeaning.  I want a doctor who is knowledgeable but sincere in his concern for my well being.  I didn't perceive this in Dr. Hernandez.

You mean there's a Mexican doctor with the  typical NOB doctors' attitudes? 😄

Yes. Watch out too for tests resulting in the sudden discovery (by a member of the trusted team of specialists) of a life threatening issue that must be taken care of RIGHT NOW!

I have met several people who have been convinced by this method only to discover that they didn't need the procedure and suffering permanent side effects. Please get a second opinion and not be rushed into something you may regret later .....

Although this question was not addressed to me, I would agree based on personal experience as well another person's whom I knew.

Thanks for the feedback.  I try to make amends with those whom may have felt they had a less than positive experience at my practice   That’s why I have a suggestion box in my office  Thank you.

Here are some links which may help you derive your own conclusions based on my life story, resume and the team of specialists whom I work with which include an M.D. who is a Harvard graduate.  I believe the original question was asking for  a PCP with a team of specialists.

Well I spent about 30,000.00 MXP in useless test in order to try to figure out why I had abdominal pain. Then went to a Doctor in Jocotepec who did a simple stool test.

Wellllllll I was loaded with amoebas........(I now use medical care recommended by my Mexican friends, but then again I also have a fairly good command of Spanish)

On a side note, I had 2 implants anchors done by Dra Candy. The first time I bought all the medication in "gringo alley" the second time I bought them in my neighborhood  no name pharmacy.

For the same meds:

Pain killer 60 versus 20 MXP

Antibiotics 265 versus 90 MXP

and so on.

Another strong vote in favor of Dra. Ana Gabriela Flores, at Quality Care.  I've been to her a few times now, for various things, starting about 3 years ago when I had a serious bout with Typhoid Fever.  She is very caring, thorough, takes time, listens, asks a lot of pertinent questions.  Also, during the questioning and history-taking, she is entering everything into her computer, and keeps this information so it can be accessed in the future.  I've had the opportunity to see firsthand that there are doctors Lakeside who do not take a single note during an office visit.  When you've left the office, they don't even have a record of your name, no contact info, not a single record of any medical information.  IMHO, this is absolutely unprofessional, even negligent.  ....Dra. Ana provides her email address and invites the patient to keep in touch.  If you do email her, she is quite prompt with her replies.  I really love her.

Could you elaborate on which pharmacies.  If no name, there the locations would be helpful.

Dra Carla Flores is in some way affiliated with Quality Care, has an office in Riberas, I believe, and makes house calls.  Friends that went to her were really pleased.

I definitely 2nd Dr. Carla.  I don't believe she iis affiliated with Quality Care anymore but since she used to be she is familiar with most of the doctors there.  Her office is actually in San Antonio.    Contact info is:  376-766-4846 & 331-000-7777.  If you contact her please tell her that Sandra referred you.

Buena suerte.
