blankletmusic
My online weather site (Weather Underground) says it's 103F in Ajijic right now, 12:45 MST. Is this correct?

dichosalocura
Come on guys, we only have another week to two weeks with this acalorón or freakin hot temperatures. They call this a dry heat, but gosh, after feeling this, how could anyone every want to live on the coast, is beyond my comprehension. But once the rains arrive, it will cool things down quite a bit. I can´t wait! The good news is, is that our extreme hot temps last about a month or so...........in my North Carolina it lasts for about three months or more! OUCH! But at least there, most people have A/C.
Al Berca
More and more of us are adding a/c here. I finally "caved in" about three years ago and now wish I had done it years earlier. It's wonderful.
pappysmarket
Have to agree with Al. We never had A/C when we lived in Ajijic but when we visited a few years ago the house we rented in El Parque had one in the MB. We certainly tried to not use it but just no breeze at night so we gave in. Now living in PV up on the cerro, we get a great breeze both day and night. We have 3 mini splits in our condo but have never used them except to test twice a year and when they manage to turn themselves on. Go figure, we think we have probably found the second best micro climate in the world right here!
johanson
This year the humidity seems higher than usual. There are fewer days that I can use my swamp cooler, which only works well when the air is really dry. Luckily I have a mini-split. And right now I'm up north for a short while. Just think if things go as scheduled the rainy season will start in mid June..
jhark
I have also noticed that temp from the site and it is always ridiculous. Does anyone know who it is and could contact them to recalibrate their equipment?
Al Berca
Not calibration, but location. Chances are that location is at the airport. There are a couple of local Weather Underground sites, but no official weather station in lakeside.

Bisbee Gal
Has anyone noticed that the Guadalajara Reporter has recently been showing the previous week's daily high and low temperatures EXACTLY the same for Ajijic as in Guadalajara. Highly unlikely.

Intercasa
There are some pockets of extreme heat, my car has registered up to 107 in Guadalajara and 103 here in Chapala.
Aquaponicsman
Times are changing. Some folks, especially the elderly cannot deal with 100 degree plus temps in their houses, well past 11 p.m when the outside cools down to 80. It seemed like every 3rd person bought a fan walking out of Walmart today. The power has gone off 4 times in the last two hours (briefly, but off) in Riberas, possibly because of all the extra fans. We even looked at getting a hotel, but none I know of in the area have air conditioning either. Some friends like to go to the movie theater during the day or casino and cool off... even if for just a little.
