I’m looking for a recommendation for an English speaking physician. A GP would be great. TIA

Go to the Ajijic Hospital/Clinic where they have an English speaking doctor and are open 24/7.

There is also Dr. Garcia  and Dr. Leon.  The doctor at Ajijic Hospital Clinic is Drs. Hernendez ( father and son)   Dr. Lastra

Dr. Lupita is with Integrity Clinic.  All speak English,      The hardest part for new people here is that you will hear positives and negative remarks about all of them.  You almost have to try one that you hear the most positives and see how it fits.  Most charge 400-600p a visit .Most on the high end.

Ask question, don't be afraid, it is your body.  Does the doctor look annoyed when you ask for an explanation? Do you get a satisfactory answer. Are you being rushed?  does the dr. make eye contact? Help in any way if you have to go to Quad for a referral, ? Sometimes you can just tell a compassionate doctor. Always look up your medications.  Ask what you should do if you need a doctor in the middle of the night.

Shop for a doctor carefully. I wanted an English speaking one also. When I first moved here I used a popular Ajijic doctor. After many months of mistreatment I realized he was incompetent. Then I tried a popular one in Riberas. He seemed competent and thorough but he wanted to do endless tests and then repeat them all awhile later. I tried the Ajijic hospital a number of times. Some of the doctors seemed good some weren't. A number of misdiagnoses. Then to one in Jocotepec. She wasn't perfect but very competent and thorough. If it is something serious get a second opinion.

I'm very happy with my G.P.: Dra. Jessica Quintinella Flores.  She has worked in the Ajijic Clinic for some time and in now in private practice on the street behind the Buganbillas Plaza going west; first block.  She's thorough, patient, and makes house calls if needed. Speaks English. Best of all: she listens .

It seems like he keeps moving. So is that the current address?

He's been there since the day he opened that office for private practice even when he was the jefe at Cruz Roja. Why make this post about moving when he hasn't? You probably don't want to come all the way to Chapala from the Raquet Club anyway unless you have moved closer.

My experience is that the range is more like 300p for Ajijic Hospital to 1400p for another mentioned on this thread.  The range of experience and technology is also quite high.

I agree Dr, @ Ajijic charge less. But almost every  generalist md I have gone to charges 600-700p.  Specialists charge more and even more if you get an EKG or some other procedure.

1400p seems pretty high unless you had a procedure performed.
