asisis
I have a solar hot water system on the roof. This time of year the hot water has a strong sulphur smell and is a bit yellow. Rest of year is fine. Anyone any ideas on how to fix? I could drain the tank and start with new water but that is last resort.
RVGRINGO
There is hydrogen sulfide in the water. You smell it more in the hot water, as you would expect. It comes from the wells supplying your water and will probably improve as soon as the rainy season replenishes the aquifers. There is little that you can do about it, other than using a charcoal filter, as it is generally a temporary seasonal situation.
