kgreenbury
I ordered new curtains that I discovered were too sheer when they arrived so I bought a heavier one at Walmart that could be cut to line them. Question is, who can I get to sew them and do a good job of it for a decent price? Suggestions?
Alfa
There is a seamstress located half a block west of the LCS that has done a good job for me with drapes several times. Her shop is on the north side of the street close to Enrique's art shop.
Ferret
There is also Mari-Chuy at Jazmin's which is located behind Actinver and across the street from Farmacia Guadalajara. This may be the perfect time of the year to get this done because she is normally very busy. An alternative might be putting up a double curtain rod. And, Mari-Chuy has every available kind of curtain rod and holder available. Just a thought
kgreenbury
Both good suggestions, thank you. Good to know about the curtain rods too; Walmart & Soriana selections leave a lot to be desired.
Ferret
_No kidding! In the house that we rented, Mari-Chuy's helper put up a double iron rod for us with iron brackets... twenty-two feet long. She was also the only one who carried/carries triple pronged hooks (proper ones) for pinch pleated drapes. So much easier to put in and out when you're taking the drapes down to be washed. Whoever designed those hooks that go right through the material must have been a sadist. Hard on the fabric and hard on the fingers. ymmv
