Legal Question

Recommended Posts

Ditto. That’s too serious of a question to rely on Forum answers... (unless it is a local unnamed attorney or a Notario).

I just asked about the same thing. To change name the notario told me they take the assest value from your latest property tax bill and multiply this by  4% more or less.  Actually the quote I received was almost 4%.

hope this helps but remember not all notario charge the same thing.  I did get 2 quotes

It can be done but if married under community property then there could be some catches, underlying question of why is important to ask.

Go talk to a notario.

Yes a notario is the one doing it.  Even if it is in the will, it is still a name change.  Pay now or have someone else pay later.
