Dan M
Does anyone have experience or information about Colonias las Redes. It is a neighborhood in Chapala behind Sorianas. I found a very nice home for rent there and am going to see it in January.
Bandol
It is pleasant and respectable either side of Pepe Guizar as you go toward the Lake. The Cultural Centre (Old Railway Station) is a stately building which hosts interesting events. A robust walk into Centro.
MtnMama
It is village living at it's best, or worst, depending on your tolerance for activity and noise. Lots of cute little shops and pleasant people.

Lots of cute little shops and pleasant people. The further south you go on the east side, the quieter the streets become. Keep in mind that is “quieter,” not “quiet.” Pay attention to what else is on your street, especially your block. Also drive or walk adjacent streets. Remember also that most eventos are not marked. All you will see are the walls. There are several schools in the neighborhood so note location and if the house is on the streets heavily traveled by the kids. Factor in their exuberance coming and going, two sessions a day, and if the street is heavily littered by the kids. That will be a daily occurrence.
