rvanparys
Has anyone had problems with 3m's invisible bras for autos due to our high UV rate? Also, where can one have it professionally installed?
johanson
I don't even know what invisible bras for autos are. Please help me to understand.
TelsZ4
Invisible bra, Is a spray on coating, something like a very heavy clear coat that stays somewhat flexible to resist stone chips.. Never heard of anyone doing this Lakeside ...Maybe Guad....?

barcelonaman
Do they have knickers to protect the sensitive parts below?
RickS
The ones that I am aware of are not ‘spray on’ but rather a 3M product. When attached they are ‘mostly’ invisible except for maybe the edge. They usually come with a small bottle of liquid which should be used occasionally to prevent ‘clouding up’. I had them on many vehicles in Colorado which also has high UV and they stay pretty much ‘invisible’. YMMV
rvanparys
`The Bras are a 3m product. They are a urethane based film that covers the front end, mirrors, and lights from rock chips... I have had it installed on all of our new cars and has proven to be cost-effective... That said, we are from the Pacific NW where UV is not a problem as the sun only comes out ever third year.

rvanparys
While some of the posts are truly humorous, I would appreciate a response from someone who has had a bra installed here in Mexico... Gracias!
ComputerGuy
Have only had one in Canada, and eventually moisture underneath starts to damage the paint. With our weather here, I would be wary. However, I guess I should ask: a car bra is usually for the nose of the vehicle, correct? So what good is protecting only the nose from UV going to do? rvanparys
The purpose is to eliminate or downgrade the effect of paint chips from road debris... The question on UV is what effect has it had on the film in this area?
ComputerGuy
That makes more sense. I didn't grok your original meaning.
