lindy1273
Can someone lead me in the right direction to get my US brand vacuum cleaner repaired? I think it may just need a new belt, but I would have to take it apart to see if that is the actual problem. It's sucking action is good, but the brushes don't move. RVGRINGO
Belt replacement is a do-it-yourself routine, as they break rather frequently if the vacuum sucks up threads from carpets, mops, etc. That causes the brushes to stall, and the belts to slip and even burn. You may need to order replacement belts, as we did, and keep several on hand. The only tool you usually need will be a screwdriver. Look online for your brand of vacuum and instructions on belt changing, if needed.
Arroyos
There is a little shop on Colon just above the Carretera on the east side that has parts for appliances and does repairs as well. I was able to buy some old model vacuum bags for a Hoover upright vacuum there. Hope this helps. Wouldn't be surprised if they could supply belts and install if you wish. Metuchenmama
They do vacuum belt replacement but some belts are hard to find. They found a Dirt Devil small vacuum belt and installed it but I wanted a second as an extra. They couldn't find one.
RVGRINGO
You can order directly from Dirt Devil if you have a US address or mail drop.
