givatiyim
Has anyone seen butternut squash anywhere? None at Walmart; none at Super Lake. Thanks.
dichosalocura
We bought one at Super Lake two weeks ago. Hopefully, they will get more in soon.
camillenparadise
Usually available at the Tuesday market. Walk straight in til you reach the guys with a lot of produce. They've almost always got it, and it's organic.
kbleitch
Sometimes they have them at Puritan Poultry in Riberas.

I saw some squash at Puritan the other day. It was not butternut, but I remember thinking I should buy some and try it. I love acorn squash and butternut squash... actually just about every squash! IMBurnen
I am friends with one of the suppliers (not the vendors) of greens to the Tuesday market. He assures me that very little of the produce sold there is organic, most is purchased in bulk and repackaged. Whether or not this is true, it might inform your decision about how to prepare and eat the produce you buy there.
ComputerGuy
Sad, but most definitely true. The days of farmers bringing their goods to the market lakeside are long gone, except for a spurious attempt now and then. Just looking at the produce is a dead giveaway. Sea
For Philistines only: There were a couple cans... yes, cans... of butternut squash at Superlake this morning. They are back on the Thanksgiving display, next to the cans of mushed pumpkin. Bottom shelf. I'm trying to provide a public service here. I refuse to allow myself to be flamed over the merits, or lack of same, of canned squash.
camillenparadise
I think I'd just rather eat what's available and clean, but I have had MUCH higher standards in Texas. Just tryin to stay alive here!
