Ezzie 104
On Mercado Libre there are advertised these miniatures for sale in the Chapala area. Anyone know the name of a local breeder where I can go and look at them and purchase one?
Justathought 155
What miniatures are you talking about ? ..are you asking about the Maltese ? .and there are many doggies and cats available at the shelters looking for a forever home.
Yo1 988
Please don't buy a dog when there are sooo many at Lucky Dog or the Ranch who need a home. Right now they have several little muffy dogs available.
Ezzie 104
Not looking for a shelter dog - already have adopted our share. Wifey wants one of those tiny teacup type called a miniature Maltese.
sue 179
You can request a viewing on Mercado Libra or ask where the dogs can be seen. They are very helpful. Good luck.

MtnMama 1,345
There is no such thing as a "teacup" dog or a miniature of an already toy breed. This is a term coined by sleazy dirtbag backyard breeders and puppy mills. NO RESPONSIBLE HONEST breeder sells "teacup" or "tiny" or any other term meaning that an already small breed is being made smaller. PERIOD And no responsible honest breeder will sell healthy breeding stock to these sleazeballs so you are buying a poorly breed runt that is virtually guaranteed to have health problems and genetic issues. Are you sure this is what you want to do? And good breeders wouldn't dream of selling puppies on Mercado Libre either. If you really want a Maltese, find a hobby/show breeder in Guadalajara and buy a quality, healthy puppy. They are already little - 3-4 kg.

I hope the OP’s wife will read this excellent article and reconsider her decision to buy a teacup dog.
