Shopping for Doctors

MrMiller

Recommended Posts

We visited Ajijic in October and were really impressed with the community. We were really impressed with how supportive the expat community is.

We plan to return in March for 4-6 weeks and shop for doctors. I am looking for recommendations for:

  • Endocrynologist
  • Dermatologist
  • Chiropractor
  • Periodontist
  • Dentist

Any words of wisdom would be most welcome.

I would suggest that you use Quality Care/Medicos Especialistas, which has an excellent staff of specialists from Guadalajara.    http://www.qcdoctors.org/

They have saved my bacon a couple of times and my cardiologist and gastroenterologist were the best I could have hoped for; much better than I now have back in the USA.

I have relatives and friends who see the lady endocrinologist at Quality Care. I’m sorry that I don’t know her name, but a call to QC and they can tell you. :Unfortunately, the link I have to the QC website does not have all their doctors listed.

She goes by  Dra. Carla C. Flores.  You can read it on her name tag, card, and Rx form.

No. The Dr. Flores I am recommending is Dr. Gabriela Flores, internist at  Quality Care. I'm sorry I was not  more specific.

The other Dr. Flores is an emergency doctor associated with   Quality Care. She makes house  calls. We had need of her once, she came to our home and attended to my husband. Nice woman, was helpful. We  saw her only that one time.

Dr. Gabriela we highly recommend as an internist who is especially good. She is also at Quality Care coming in from  Guadalajara.

In searching through past posts I found

Dr. Santiago Hernandez would be someone good to see for my wife's low thyroid.

My wife also has adrenal insufficiency (her adrenal glands have largely shut down) and I have not found much around this on this board. There was a string of posts back in 2013 that  recommended:

Alberto Solano Sanchez, F.A.C.P. Fellow American College of Physicians

Medicina Interna, Endocrinologia y Diabetes

Tarascos 3426 In Front of Hospital Del Carmen

Guadalajara Frac. Monraz

 -------------------

I also found this string

Can anyone add anything to this?

Dra. Carla C. Flores is a GP, not an "emergency doctor,"  although she handles many emergencies due to her willingness to make home visits.

I have had Addison's Disease (a form of adrenal insufficiency) for 15 years. Dra. Marilu Sanchez a Quality Care has been my go to person for the last two years and the best I have had.
