geeser Posted September 19, 2017 Report Share Posted September 19, 2017 I have changed VoiP vendors and the new company uses a Linksys SPA-2102 adaper. My previous company used a PAP-2 but it was locked so I am trying to install the SPA-2102. The insrtuctions for forwarding port on my Telmex Infinitum_EchoLife-HG520b router don't seem to work. I enter my static ip address and it does not go to the router/modem, it just times out. So the router is not seeing the telephone digital adapter. Any suggestions? Go Solar Posted August 16, 2019 Report Share Posted August 16, 2019 Another option on some routers is to open a dedicated "hole" in the router firewall, just for the phone adapter. Very low risk based on the IP telephony and internet supplier folks advice I have had. CG may be able to advise better on this and the name of the procedure.
