I used the gastroenterologist recommended by Dr. Leon, my GP.  I have had two.  This year's cost was 5800 pesos and if there has been polyps found, each removal would be an additional 500 pesos.  The procedure was done at the Ajijic Hospital.  I have been very pleased with the service, the person administering the anesthetic and the doctor performing the procedure.  You don't have to wait long to have it done.  They usually scheduling them on a Saturday morning at the hospital.

Are you in the habit of running with scissors too?

I recommend Dr. Hector Valenzuela, at Quality Care/Medicos Especialistas.  They have a website.  Everything will be done safely in a Guadalajara hospital.

Having such a procedure done at Lake Chapala is not a good choice IMHO.  Nor would I respect any physician who would recommend that it be done outside of a full service hospital, where immediate emergency surgery is available.

My point is that one should have a colonoscopy first for screening because many need those polyps removed. Your calling that barbaric is hysterical.

You have your point of view, which i dis agree with, i see nothing hysterical about her post, I see it as educational and i appreciate

having read it. I think people who have polyps removed are both hysterical and stupid. Im entitled to my opinion also.

I heard that Maskaras is now doing the new Poop test so you don't have to have the Colonoscopy, which is much safer, there are so many being done now that many mistakes are happening.

What`s this? A simple examination of feces like is done for general yearly exams only looking for polyps? Or maybe looking for something else?  Are these new? Reliable?

If it's Cologuard, it checks for both blood and  cancer DNA cells.  The older fecal tests only checked for blood.

BTW, Medicare covers Cologuard 100% in the US, every 3 years.  Some private insurance covers it too.
