Has anyone been to Just Chillin lately

We popped in last Wednesday for a quick burger after tequila club.  Not going to go again.  The burgers were not even close to good and the bun was hard.  The fries were not what they used to be which is a shame because they used to be good.   There was a guitarist playing and singing way too loud for a "crowd" of 3 tables.

That 'bashing' just said we longer need nor want your business.  And I thought the hugs were 'Welcome back, we're really glad to see you again'.  Hate in the heart destroys so much.

Many inexperienced people forget the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" principle and wind up losing the customers who made them successful in the first place.  In this case, the friendly staff, the good enough and plentiful food and the fact that they were open most of the time.  Now..........well, you've all said it.  Too bad.

Throwing everything you've got at a business...many times seven days a week, will burn out the strongest if there is no plan to ease up at a certain level. Many restaurants fail after two years because the staff and owners are like walking dead. In this case, the leader, wasn't as bright as he gave himself credit for. Getting back lost good will is like getting young again..

We want to and we can try to, but when you've used up all your ammunition...time to pull back or surrender.

? Yes this usually happened when you focus to a new business (the hotel in Tequisquiapan ) and soon buy and open the second hotel, all these because the support of our beautiful Chillin family. But not worries when the highseason start in October everything will be normal again.

Hugs ??

I think two things are at play here. One, we forget about the tourist seasons. At least this time they didnt just close. :) Two, is there still a 'low' season? That may be changing. Traffic and apartment demand certainly don't  seem low...

Just Chillin' has always seemed to be a cult of personality. They can expand, contract, change menus, shorten business hours/days, close entirely, then come back and get away with it as no other restaurant has been able to. Perhaps one day the loyal followers will fail to show back up again for the latest "We're Back!" but so far it works for them.

There is definitely a down season here. Vendors and businesses are aching for October. What may not be as apparent, is in the last few years the high season has not caused the kind of "bounceback" it used to. Keep any on events, and business advertising, in The Guadalajara Reporter... that's somewhat of an indicator of the return of the snowbirds.

As for traffic, allow me to pull up some photos from 16 or so years ago, when villagers didn't have cars and trucks. I can show you a picture of a burro with a saddle tied up outside a real-estate office on Colon, with nary a car in sight. Now everybody has at least one. (Vehicle... the burros are almost gone.)
