RCman
When we returned to Canada in early April this new highway was not complete at the far end. It was confusing but stopped someone and got assistance and went on up to Aguascalientes . We are now heading back to Ajijic in two weeks and was wondering if it is anymore complete. This time we are coming at it from Matejuala and any help in what to look for would be greatly appreciated. It's a great highway once you are on it. AngusMactavish
It is open all the way. You will soon see signs that say, "Chapala". You then follow your nose through what seems to be a lonely highway. It dumps you off northbound to Guad, but that favorite retorno is a short distance. In the turn around space, do not stay to the left as some AH will share the spot with you while blocking your view to proceed. Take the northerly bypass of SLP and drive through Lagos de Moreno instead of the bypass.
dcstroker
MACROlibremento. Any word on when the section to the west will open? Pass by it almost everyday and it looks finished on our end. I figure it should cut off at least 20 minutes on trips to Costco.
RCman
Thank you. That sounds great and I'm familiar with the retourno just up by Eddies motel so it should be a easy drive. And yes that is a lonely highway but sures beats going anywhere near Gdl.
Mainecoons
You don't have to go near as far as Eddie to do the retorno, it is just past the burrito place. When coming south now, the traffic going towards GDL exits, you just go straight. As Angus said, it is signed to Chapala.
