liquipure
We booked a cruise from New Orleans round trip. 2 ports are in Mexico. Didn't think about immigration issues. Anyone have experience doing this? The ship usually clears immigration for all passengers but I am not sure this is a good idea. We are permenante. AngusMactavish
Use your US passport to exit and return to the US.
RVGRINGO
Do not let the ship fill out an FMM for you, as it could void your Residente Permanente. Insist strongly and be sure that they comply, as you will have no recourse if that were to happen. Just show your visa cards to any Mexican INM or customs agents you encounter. Tomas
No need to show anything other than your passport to the cruise line when boarding..No reason to ever show your RP...Your passport is all you need. Your cruise card and some form of ID when on shore..
Yo1
Usually the cruise line gets all the passenger's paperwork done for them before the immigration officials come on board at each destination. Immigration looks everything over (perhaps random inspection) of paperwork and usually approves the entire passenger list for disembarkation. If your paperwork shows you as a tourist into Mexico you are screwed. Be sure to write to the cruise line before your trip and then speak with the purser (I think) about the problem when you are on board. You must stay on top of this.
