Heart attack advice for our neighbor?

Our Mexican neighbor had a heart attack a few days ago, and is now home. His son is our gardener, and he also is a gardener. Can anyone offer me advice on how we can support them over the next few months? Are there ongoing services offered here for heart attack victims. They speak no English. We live in Riberas.

If you are mobile, perhaps drive them to doctor's appointments in Chapala or to the bus station if they have to travel to GDL (at the crack of dawn) to see a specialist under Seguro Popular. How old is the person with the cardiac condition? It may make a difference in their mobility. Best thing is to provide the emotional support you're offering as evidenced by your question. Que bueno!

The patient will need rest, and monitoring of his medications. Transportation to his follow-up appointments is something else you might be able to provide.  That, and a daily visit to chat, or just be there, will be most welcome.

Our neighbor who had the heart attack is young, in his mid forties. I can easily offer rides for them. His son has been bringing him over twice a day to use our blood pressure monitor. It offers a good opportunity to talk a little.

I'm so glad to see that you are a kind, thoughtful neighbour.  Like many others have said on here, rides to appointments, doing their grocery shopping for them, or bringing them prepared food.  Any of those things would be appreciated, I'm sure!  I know that when my partner passed away, there was only one person who brought me prepared meals.
