shortstop
Flying one way GDL to Atlanta. Driving back. What to do with the return portion of my Immigration form? Do I turn it in at the border in Laredo? Can I turn it into Immigration in Chapala? I am permanente. Thanks for any info.

Despite some people saying the agent didn't want it, I've never had that happen to me.
pappysmarket
What kind of plates will be on the car and/or who will be driving? Someone non-permanente?

What would that matter, INM won't go look at the car? I've driven both kinds recently across and nobody in the border zone cares what kind of plate you have. pappysmarket
The question is how far into Mexico he wishes to drive it. Does he need a TIP? We don't have enough info to give him good advice. Maybe it's Mexican plated in which case, adelante.
AngusMactavish
Sorry, but that was not in his question. Why confuse the issue of turning in the FMM?
pappysmarket
Sorry, I was trying to help him avoid a mistake. Your analysis is spot on for the exact question he asked. I was perceiving that he might have a much bigger problem given what he is fixin to do.
Mainecoons
Turn it in at the border. Consider crossing at Pharr, more direct route, bypasses all cities until you get to Lagos de Moreno (true for both routes), lower tolls, very very easy to turn in there, small and lightly used crossing. shortstop
Thank you everyone for your advice. Would have replied sooner but our internet has been out. Will turn it in at the border.
