Lost Dog
Turned out to be a billing error and the power was turned off at our place. Back on now and all is well.

JayBearII
CFE is a pain, but I have had good results going to their office in Chapala. Nice manager fluent in English. Nevermind that I HAD to go there to straighten out my bills. Just one of the joys of living in Mexico: one cannot trust one's utility bills to be accurate. And people NOB wonder how we spend our time!
pappysmarket
Our first encounter with a non-paid bill resulted in a very polite man coming to our door, apologizing, and then removing our meter. I yelled to our maestro and he assured me he could restore power. A couple of wires were attached to the power lines and connected to our meter. He told me they would charge about $500 pesos to reconnect so advised we wait at least a month before going to Chapala. Worked like a charm.
