I think that you can find ácido cítrico at the grainery next to Gossips on the carretera--if you don't see it ask, they are very helpful. It is very inexpensive in bulk. I usually buy it by the kilo at the Abastos. As for the vinegar, it also works but some coffee maker manufacturers do not recommend it as a cleaner. I can't say if it damages anything since I have used both and the results seem similar. I think the citric acid is easier to rinse out without leaving a smell or taste.
