From Joco, drive west on Vicente Guerreroto to the crucero and then turn right, about forty minutes later you will find a good doctor.

yes Guadalajara is good but when you live somewhere it is good to have a GP close by for emergency.

Yes, it's good to have a local doctor.  But Fred is politely trying to tell you to look elsewhere than Joco.  PM him for the horror story.

When you have an emergency in the middle of the night and are in great pain Guadalajara is a little far. Yo1, Surely there is more than one dr in Joco or do you go to Ajijic or Riberas or Chapala?

Does the new Seguro Popular clinic/hospital not have a doctor on duty 24/7 like Cruz Roja in Chapala?

Whoops typed this at the same time as the above.

They have a full team of doctors and nurses as well as a nursery . Thanks to Guadalajara Pharmacies....24 hours a day....you have access to drugs as needed anywhere at Lakeside and Mexico

Yes,the community hospital in Joco is open 24 hours.  Any one can use it.  They accept SP insurance for payment.  Non members the charges are low.  I took my son there for emergency and the charge was 70 pesos.

yes but they have a doctor on call so someone can take care of you on an emergency. I used the Ajijic clinic once and Maskaras 3 or 4 times in the last 17 years and that is why I was asking about Joco. It is good to know how close emergency places are when you live somewhere.

Although once I thought our gardener was having a stroke so I took him to the Ajijic clinic that did not want to do anything without a MRI and then I realized that there was no MRI place Lakeside so I drove him to Guadalajara.. so much for being close to an emergency..place..

The problem is places Lakeside that could be used in an emergency might not have the necessary equipment. All of them.

Odd when I try to post just a reply it forces it to quote.

So how many staff do you expect.....Do you expect a trauma team to be on hand..........At Lakeside we are in the bonnies any special test etc have to be done in Guad..just say your prayers if you have a heart attack or stroke and get to Guad ASAP
